Educational Therapy & Learning Support Services

Ovspring offers literacy, educational therapy and learning support services. Our educational therapists work with children in pre-primary up to those in secondary schools requiring educational remedial sessions.  Sessions are structured to meet the needs of the child and are conducted either on (a) One-to-one basis or (b) Group basis, limited up to 3 students.

Prior to commencing literacy intervention with our professionals, students may be required to go through literacy skills assessment with our educational psychologist &/or specialist so as to better understand your child's difficulties.

Our therapists tailor programmes to the needs of the student and are trained in a variety of approaches including:-

1) Orton-Gillingham Approach

The Orton-Gilingham approach to reading instruction, is language-based, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive and flexible. It is an intensive, sequential phonics-based system teaches the basics of word formation before whole meanings. The method accommodates and utilises the three learning modalities, or pathways, through which people learn—visual, auditory and kinaesthetic.  More information on Orton-Gillingham approach can be found at http://www.ortonacademy.org
